Reading the Country teaches you to look at a landscape — a dune, a headland, a rainforest gully — and understand why it is the way it is. It's the free companion site to Same Sky, Different Ground, a natural history of the Sunshine Coast from reef to range, free to download. Every guide is authored, every claim cited and traceable.
Built for where signal isn't
The whole library is saved to your phone on your first visit — no setup, no button to press. Every guide, figure and font downloads quietly in the background while you read, because the coast's dead spots are exactly where you'll most want them.
The terrain map's shaded relief comes down with that first visit too, so the map itself pans offline. The one exception is its vegetation and restoration overlays: each of those is saved the first time you switch it on with signal. Flick on the layers you'll want before you leave coverage — an overlay you've never opened online stays behind when the signal does.
Add it to your home screen
Installed, it opens full-screen like any app — no browser bars, straight to the country.
On iPhone / iPad (Safari): tap the Share button (the square with an arrow), scroll down, then tap Add to Home Screen.
On Android (Chrome): tap the ⋮ menu, then Add to Home screen (or use the Install prompt when it appears).
