The photographs, and who took them
Every photograph here was taken by someone who chose to share it under an open licence: naturalists recording what they found on iNaturalist, and photographers on Wikimedia Commons. This site exists because of that kind of generosity, so each one is credited beside the picture and listed again here.
137 photographs: 76 under CC BY, 46 under CC BY-SA, 13 under CC0 and 2 in the public domain. Each is resized and saved as WEBP for the web; the one marked cropped had a watermark trimmed from its edge. Follow a photographer's name to the original at full size. The iNaturalist photos are research-grade records of wild plants and animals, identified by the community there.
